Health & Safety

Safety is managed, not assumed

Ellisbrook maintains a health and safety program aligned with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and the construction projects regulation, applied consistently on every site.

Our Commitment

Planned work is safer work

Most construction incidents trace back to work that was not properly planned, resourced, or supervised. Our safety approach begins with the same discipline we apply to schedule and cost.

Supervisors are accountable for the conditions on their sites. Trade partners are held to the same requirements as our own forces, and safety performance is considered in how we select and retain them.

Every worker on an Ellisbrook project is expected to stop work that cannot be done safely.

Program Elements

How the program operates

Our health and safety framework is documented and applied through defined project routines.

  1. 01

    Site-Specific Planning

Each project begins with a site-specific safety plan addressing hazards, access, emergency response, and high-risk activities.

  2. 02

    Orientation & Training

Workers and trade partners receive project orientation, and task-specific training requirements are verified before work begins.

  3. 03

    Hazard Assessment

Daily and task-level hazard assessments are completed in the field and reviewed by site supervision.

  4. 04

    Inspection & Correction

Regular site inspections are documented, with corrective actions assigned, tracked, and closed.

Site Control

Safety on an Ellisbrook site starts with control of the site itself: identified personnel, mandatory protective equipment, defined access and sign-in, and public information posted at the boundary. Trade partners work to the same requirements as our own forces.

  • Head and high-visibility protection mandatory on all active sites
  • Controlled access, visitor sign-in, and site orientation before entry
  • Project information and emergency contacts posted at the site boundary
